RBR Enterprises and Jay Fogleman Team Up For Championship Run

Whiteville, NC-Ricky Benton Racing (RBR) announced today that they will team up with veteran driver Jay Fogleman for the remainder of 2005. This announcement comes immediately following the amicable split of RBR and Matt Carter.

Carter, of Denver, N.C., won the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year Title for RBR in 2004 and currently sits seventh in the Hooters Pro Cup Series points for 2005. RBR and Carter mutually decided to pursue other opportunities following the Myrtle Beach race last weekend.

Fogleman, who currently is fourth in the Hooters Pro Cup standings, will be piloting the RBR No. 22 Ford Taurus at the next Southern Event in Hickory next weekend. Fogleman sits only 96 points out of first place.

Lucas Oil Products, headquartered in Corona, California, will come over to be primary sponsor of the RBR No. 22 Entry. Lucas Oil produces the number one selling line of specialty oils and additives in the American truck stop industry as well as one of the fastest growing product lines in the automotive aftermarket. Fogleman will also bring over some associate sponsorship from Mac Tools and Greased Lightning. Black's Tire & Auto Service will remain on as an associate sponsor. Black's Tire, in business since 1929, operates 18 retail stores throughout North & South Carolina, two wholesale operations, and a central distribution center.

Over 100 career wins have been logged to Jay Fogleman's racing credit, earning him track championships at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, N.C., South Boston Speedway in Virginia, and Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.

He has competed in and won major events at Martinsville, Va. (four wins) and North Wilkesboro, N.C. (one win). He has competed in 25 NASCAR Busch Series events, finishing 11th at South Boston and 12th at Myrtle Beach in 2000. Since then, Jay has been a force in the Hooters Pro Cup Series.

RBR Motorsports with crew chief, Mike Hester are hoping this change will allow them to run for their second Hooters Pro Cup Championship with Fogleman behind the wheel. In 2004, RBR won the Miller Lite Rookie of the Year Championship with Matt Carter. In 2002, RBR won the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Championship with Jason Sarvis; and with driver, Charles Powell won the 1998 Myrtle Beach Speedway track championship, the Atlantic Seaboard Region Championship, and finished fourth in the nation.
