Two-Time ASA Champion Gary St. Amant Joins Forces with Bullet Racing

Cleveland, Ohio--After winning two ASA Championships, and being the current all time highest earning driver in ASA history, Gary St. Amant was ready to do something different. Once St. Amant measured all his options, the Columbus, Ohio, driver determined he liked what he saw happening with the USAR Hooters ProCup Series and signed as the driver of the No. 11 Northern Division car for Bullet Racing.

"Short-track racing is what I do best, and the direction that Mr. Brooks is taking the USAR Hooters ProCup Series is one I truly respect and want to be a part of," stated St. Amant. "Racing out of the Bullet shop in Cleveland, well, I couldn't really ask for a better situation. I'm close to my home, and it's one of the nicest shops I have been in."

St. Amant possesses a wealth of knowledge of short tracks and radial tires. With the Hooters ProCup Series making the transition to the BFGoodrich Traction T/A Radial tires this year, that knowledge will be priceless.

St. Amant won the inaugural ASA race when they made the switch to radial tires in 2000, and that fact has the entire Bullet Racing Team looking forward to racing with Gary this year.

"The addition of St. Amant really takes us to a whole new level," remarked Deborah Meek, Marketing and PR. "There is so much for each of us to learn, and the great sportsman Gary is, he is ready and willing to share that knowledge."

In addition to Gary, his father, Bud, will also be joining the Bullet Racing Team "He wants to win; we all want to win, so this new relationship is pretty awesome," said Bud.

Bud is currently helping the Bullet Racing Team prepare for the Northern Division's season opener at Big Daddy's South Boston Speedway on April 17, but Bullet Racing hopes to have St. Amant, who won ASA titles in 1998 and 2000, in the car before the season starts.

"We will all start working in earnest to have the cars ready for the tire test at Mansfield Speedway in March," said team manager Bill Harkins. "It will be an exciting year for the team."

Gary and his new team are still looking to firm up sponsorship packages for the 2004 season. If you are interested in sponsoring St. Amant during his rookie year in the USAR Hooters ProCup Series, contact Gary at 614-337-1672 or Deborah Meek at 216-514-3375.
