Anderson, IN (July 2, 2003) After suffering engine problems again at Salem, the Thermtech Systems/GregVanAlst.com Pontiac will go for it Friday night July 4th at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. The past week and a half has been hectic at Van Alst Motorsports. Every evening since Salem they have been out in the shop struggling to get the engine ready for the fireworks at Kil-Kare. They have dropped their engine builder, SPEC Racing Engines, and looked to other options.

"After going to the track twice and only getting in a handful of laps, we have decided to change our ways," states the Anderson, IN native. "We are going to start putting our own bottom ends together and having our heads done by someone in our area."

This will be the first race with the new top end. They are hoping to have a good showing. With all the problems with the engine, Greg didn't even have time to celebrate his 22nd birthday on Tuesday. Greg and Van Alst Motorsports plans on celebrating that on Friday.

"After what we found out what the problem was, we are sure we'll have more power....and it should last," said Greg. "Our goal for this weekend is to make our way into the race, and just get some laps under us."

Van Alst Motorsports is very thankful for Thermtech Systems, but has still to land a primary sponsor for the remainder of the season. With the team being under a very tight budget they are still unsure on what races will be attended this season.

Green Flag for the "Naturally Fresh Foods 250" presented by NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour at 8:00 PM. The event will be tape delayed on SPEED Channel.
