In House Team Makes All The Difference For Tom Pistone

USAR Hooters Pro Cup driver Tom Pistone debuted his new team at the Chemung Speedrome. Pistone who has always owned his own team was back behind the wheel of his own car for the first time this year. The team brought a new car never tested and qualified tenth and finished eighth. This was the highest finish for Pistone.

"We started the season with a team that has a whole different approach to racing than we do," states Pistone."Being hands on makes such a difference as a driver because it gives you the confidence in the car. Earlier this year we experienced every kind of simple parts failure but with our new car we finished our first race out and had a legitimate shot at a third place finish. I credit my crew chief Gregg Morgan, If not for Gregg this car would not have raced at Chemung.

There are a lot of other people to thank, John Anthony, Jeff Morgan. Also Bill,Andy,Bob,Chuck,Van and Tom who used to race in the Busch North division, For a crew who never raced together we put out some great pit stops. I also owe making this race to Pop Herman and Mike Herman, Jr., Their help we would still be in Charlotte. I got together with Mike about midway through the race and ruined both our chances for a win. I really hate racing with friends because it seems you always end up running into each other. I am sure the Herman's did not want to bring the car to the track that would knock them out of contention for the win but it was purely an accident."

With the promise of Bully Hill Vineyards being on board for the 2002 season the Performancenter Motorsports team is very excited about the next season. Look for Tom Pistone to be a force in the USAR.
