Dan Daniels takes the $10,000 win at USMTS Featherlite Fall Jamboree

Spring Valley, MN - Dan Daniels scored his first United States Modified Touring Series win in grand fashion. Daniels topped a 130 plus USMTS Modified field for a $10,000 payday at the USMTS / Featherlite Fall Jamboree at Deer Creek Speedway.

The $150,000 USMTS Featherlite Fall Jamboree purse featured a $10,000 to win, USMTS A-Main thanks to Featherlite Trailers, Deer Creek Speedway and USMTS. 135 USMTS modified racecars checked in on Thursday hoping to be the one at the end of the three special holding that $10,000 check.

After the forty-seven qualifying events over three days, the field was whittled down to a thirty-four-car field set to fight it out in a fifty lap A-Main. After two caution periods trying to complete the first lap, the racing action went non-stop to the checkered flag.

Willy Kraft captured the early race lead of the three-wide starting field. Daniels, Johnny Bone Jr., and Tony Fraise slipped in behind and tried to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the pack. Kelly Shryock and Corey Dripps quickly caught the lead four cars by lap four.

Bone was able to work his nose under Daniels for second and shot by on lap seven. Bone then began hounding Kraft for the lead. Kraft was able to hug the bottom groove fending off Bone through the middle stages of the race.

As the lead pack approached lapped traffic, Daniels passed Bone for second, and he tried for several laps to get by Kraft for the lead. On lap forty, Daniels was able to get underneath Kraft and took the lead. Kraft was left on the high side and that allowed Bone, Shryock, Dripps, and Tommy Myer to slip by over the next few laps.

Once clear of Kraft, Daniels began to open a huge lead and would cruise to the Fall Jamboree $10,000 win. Bone would finish second, and Shryock finished third. Myer passed Dripps on lap forty-eight and would finish fourth. Dripps rounded out the Top 5.
