(5/28/2005 Grain Valley, MO) Nearly 100 cars adorned the pits at the Valley Speedway tonight to take on the fast 1/3 mile bull ring. A good crowd was also on hand and the stars of the weekly racing at Valley Speedway did not disappoint. The 4th Modified heat race was one of the best races you will ever see as Tim Setzer battled with Fly'n Mike Ryan lap after lap but it was Setzer that would survive and take the win.
The M&M Motorsports Street Stocks had battles all night long on the track with wild and wooly action in the heats and the "B" feature. The Valley Late Models saw Kevin Coyne who has had a streak of bad luck get to the front and take the checkers in the 2nd heat race. All 4 features of the evening saw furious competition as cars fought their way to top finishing positions. The M&M Motorsports Street Stocks saw the 2 Kings, Fred and Bob fight tooth and nail through the closing laps with Fred nipping Bob. The Modifieds saw a wreck take out a strong runner Bob King and that left Tim Setzer to battle with Kevin Kaiser. Setzer who was strong all night long would take the win as the only 4th wheel he needed was to get to the track.
The Valley Late Models was a battle of attrition with 18 cars starting and 8 finishing. Once again it was "JAMMING" Jimmy Morris as he was just too strong to catch. Dave Bush who fought through the field in a very fast race car would claim runner up spot with the Evingers (Mark and son Owen) battling with Kevin Coyne for 3rd. In the final feature the Hobby stocks Dylan Askins was just too fast to catch. The 19B and 27 of Mike Schouten battled for 3rd and one time were literally bumper hooked running down the frontstretch. Fans if you have not been to Valley Speedway this year it is time to come out and join us as the action is furious each and every week.
