PENDLETON, Ind. (December 18, 2003) -- The rapidly expanding American Speed Association Member Track program has added West Liberty Raceway in Eastern Iowa for the 2004 season. West Liberty is the second track in the Hawkeye State to join ASA's weekly racing program joining the previously announced Hawkeye Downs Speedway.

"I'm excited about the involvement with the ASA Member Track program," said Jerry Pratt, promoter of West Liberty Raceway. "The points fund contribution is very valuable to everyone at West Liberty Raceway. This is the best thing that has occurred for our competitors in a long time."

West Liberty Speedway is located approximately 15 miles Southeast of Iowa City. Pratt Racing Promotions founders Jerry and Lisa Pratt promote the.50-mile flat clay oval. The speedway is located near I-80 at the Muscatine County Fairgrounds. Weekly racing takes place from April to September, with the divisions of Late Models, Modifieds, Limited Late Models and West Liberty Stock Cars.

"The ASA National Tour has established a solid reputation in eastern Iowa over the past 10 years with events at Cedar Rapids," said Dennis Huth, ASA Member Track program director. "That reputation, coupled with West Liberty Raceway's quality racing program, will make this an almost certain winning combination."

The ASA Member Track program is designed for weekly short track venues to make available many of the policies, principles, procedures and components that have made the American Speed Association a premier short track sanctioning body for 36 years.

Participating tracks receive contributions to their year-end points fund, marketing opportunities, and join a small, select group of elite tracks displaying the ASA Member Track logo.

ASA Member Tracks showcase exciting competition with their local racing programs, providing training grounds for the ASA Racing stars of tomorrow. Through the ASA Member Track program, "We Build Champions. "

The American Speed Association offers racing on three levels: ASA National Tour, ASA Late Model Series and through the rapidly expanding ASA Member Track program.
