Having started on the front row of the grid at a damp Madras Motor Race Track, Karminder immediately dispatched pole sitter Affan Sadat Safwan Islam to take the lead.
Despite rain hitting the track halfway through the race, Karminder extended his advantage lap by lap, taking the chequered flag with a mammoth margin of 12.305s.
With chief rival Saurav Bandyopadhyay finishing no higher than seventh, the Delhi-based driver notched up enough points to seal the title with one race to spare.
While Karminder was in a league of his own, Safwan Islam had to fight hard against Sandeep Kumar to finish second.
Kohalpur’s Dhruv Mohite was arguably the star driver of the day. After a retirement in Race 1 that left him at the back of the grid, Mohite scythed his way through the field, overtaking Rashad Khan on the final lap to take fourth.
Anmol Singh finished right on the tail of Khan in sixth, while the aforementioned Bandopadhyay was another second adrift in seventh.
Donovan Vaz was next up in eighth, while Siddharth Kotecha and Rohit Goyal completed the top 10.
Pavneet Sheetal, Sergius Barretto and Tauhid Anwar retired from the race, while Chinese guest driver Anning Sun was the last of the classified finishers in 16th after dropping down the pack on the opening lap.
