Denver: Don Sak qualifying summary

...

#10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette quick in second qualifying group.

Denver - August 31, 2002 - Running quicker than his 11th place starting position reflects, Don Sak continued to dial in the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette for the temporary street course here in Denver.

"I find myself getting more and more comfortable with the track," said Don. "I heard Boris [Said] say the track is really two tracks in one. He makes an excellent point. It's very smooth and fast in some sections and pretty rough in others. But, it's fun and challenging at the same time. "

"Fortunately," added Sak, "Shail and Shane Duhaime [team engineer/crew chief] have really gotten our shock package dialed in. We are able to traverse the rough sections quickly without sacrificing our handling on the slick asphalt sections. It also appears the track as gotten better with use."

"My teammate [Stu Hayner] has really been helpful to me too." Sak continued. "Today, after his provisional pole-qualifying run, he actually jumped from his car and went trackside to work with me over the radio. It was a great help. We were the quickest car in our group right up to the last lap."

The teams will have a short practice round at 8:15am Sunday and the feature race will immediately follow the CART race at 4:30pm. Everyone is watching the weather, as the track is very susceptible to temperature changes. In addition, it is rumored there may be a slight chance of rain.

Revolution Motorsports and the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup are in Denver for the Shell Grand Prix of Denver, August 29 - September 1. The 61 lap/100 mile Trans Am race will take the green flag Sunday at 4:30pm, immediately following the CART race. The race will air on SPEED Channel [tape delayed] September 8 at 2:00pm EST.

In association with Trenton Forging, Revolution Motorsports competes as part of the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. All events are nationally televised on CBS and SPEED channel (formerly Speedvision). The Trans-Am Series is the oldest form of American sports car racing.
