Summit Point Raceway, VA. - A late start but a great start to the season for new Trans-Am team Glacier Bear Racing and driver Marybeth Harrison who completed her first two days of testing prior to competing in the GT1 class at Summit Point Raceway's first SCCA National event of the year.

Harrison quickly adapted to the 650 horsepower Pratt & Miller Camaro and during Friday's practice was clocked at 1.13.4 - an unofficial track record. She qualified 4th for Sunday's race and posted the 2nd fastest lap time of the race before a spin and a mechanical pit stop took her out of contention for the lead.

"I was greatly surprised at the potential my driver showed us in her ability to handle the car at the track," stated Team Owner Jerry Moskel. "I'm confident we'll be able to put on a good show at our first Trans-Am race at Mosport."

"I think it was a great start for this new team - and new driver," stated Harrison, who's racing background is in Formula 1600 and 2000. "I was totally impressed with the crew and the car, and feel really lucky to be part of this team."

Harrison fell in love with racing after taking a racing course in '92 and in '96 made racing her full time career. Marybeth has won races in karts, sedans, Legends cars, and open wheel Formula cars. She holds the track record for her class at Mission Raceway Park and was the Canadian Formula Drivers Association '98 Champion. She is a racing instructor with ProFormance Racing and was a PPG Pace Car Driver in '98 and '99.

Glacier Bear Racing will be making their Trans-Am debut at Mosport on May 21st fielding the #07 Pratt & Miller Camaro. The race will be televised live on Speedvision, 2pm EST.

Glacier Bear Racing was started by Owner Jerry Moskel of Charlotte, North Carolina and is headed by Crew Chief George Reggio and Chief Engineer Kirk DeNinno of Maryland Performance Centers in Gaithersburg, MD.
