Detroit - October 21, 2002 - John Thawley announced today that he would release a new book featuring photographs from the 2002 Trans-Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup. The book will be unveiled October 28 to coincide with the Series banquet.

Thawley, who travels with the Revolution Motorsports/Trenton Forging Trans-Am team, had this to say about the book.

"After following the Series all year, I realized my pictures were really starting to reflect my attitude and views of this form of racing. As more friends and competitors began requesting prints, it occurred to me that a book like this would accommodate those requests and provide a broader audience with a neat snapshot of the past season."

"Once I began formulating the idea, I realized it could open a bit of a Pandora's box," Thawley added. I didn't want the responsibility of documenting the year statistically or representing any historical record, per se. I simply wanted to show my work and stay true to my artistic point of view. I believe I've accomplished my goal."

With 39 color images (most full page), the book offers something for everyone. There are action shots, driver shots, and up-close in your face shots. Two of the author's favorites are early morning shots taken in turn five at Road America. The colors are deep and rich... reflecting spectacular morning light.

"It was important to put out a quality piece of work and something that the Series has never been offered," Thawley insisted. "I wanted a book that would appeal to the core participant in the Trans-Am community. This book is for them and the truly diehard Trans-Am fan. That is whom I kept in mind when I made the final selections. I'm excited."

The book measures 10" x 12" and is printed on 100lb. high gloss cover stock throughout. Each page has a "suitable for framing" look and feel. While the cover is soft back, it is 120lb. weight and provides the book with a rich substantial feel. The first printing is a Limited Edition of 500 copies with each book numbered.

"Time Certain 2002 Trans-Am Series... A Point of View" will be available online October 30th at www.tainternetleague.com and directly from the author at www.johnthawley.com
