ProTrac North America, the sales and service facility in the US for Holland's ProTrac BV shock absorbers is the newest Corporate Member of the BF Goodrich TransAm Series. The company will support TransAm with a full contingency program valued at over $26,000 for the 2000 series.

All TransAm teams carrying the official ProTrac decal and running ProTrac shocks are eligible for cash awards of $500, $300, and $200 for finishing 1st, 10th, and 20th, respectively in any official BF Goodrich TransAm race.

In addition, ProTrac will award the 2000 TransAm champion, the Red Line Oil Rookie of the Year and the BBS Wheels Most Improved Driver each, a full set of 4 ProTrac triple adjustable shocks (value of $5000). ProTrac will also award the highest-finishing team running ProTracs throughout this first season of availability in the US, a set of triple-adjustable shocks and $2500 or $5000.

ProTrac's single- double-, and triple-adjustable shocks are based on the philosophy that chassis and suspension reaction should be controlled with compression (bump). Therefore, ProTrac shocks are designed with large diameter rods to displace more oil. As fine-tune adjustments are not possible without the flow of oil, the large rod enhances performance at the low speed, short strokes (under 2-3 inches per second) characteristic of cornering and braking. ProTrac Triple-Adjustable shocks, approved for use in the BF Goodrich Trans-Am Series, have 8 Low speed settings; 12 High speed settings and 15 Rebound settings. Rather than take the shocks apart for revalving, fine-tuning adjustments can be made by changing the adjuster positions.

ProTrac North America maintains a full sales and service facility in Newfields, New Hampshire and supports the TransAm Series with trackside presence at all events. For information, contact ProTrac North America, PO Box 1058, Newfields NH 03856 603-778-1909; fax: 603-772-7066. Cell: 603-234-5202. E-mail: infona@protrac.nl.
