Bobby Sak wraps up rookie year on a high note
second place finish in Puerto Rico caps of a stellar season

San Juan PR -- Oct. 28, 2003 -- In the end, Bobby Sak's [#10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette] second place finish at the Puerto Rico Grand Prix would not be enough for him to snag the Rookie of the Year title in the Motorock Trans-Am Tour for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup. Regardless, Sak will be remembered as one of the most exciting young rookies to hit the Trans-Am circuit in a long, long time.

From coast-to-coast and from Montreal to San Juan, Bobby Sak and Jorge Diaz Jr. stole the show providing one of the most hotly contested Rookie titles in Trans-Am history. While the points spread may have seemed out of reach at times, the action these two young warriors brought to the track was all out war. When the dust had settled only a mere 10 points separated the two. Both had delivered on a promise of Trans-Am excitement.

"I couldn't have asked for a better Rookie year," said Sak. "Sure, I'd love to be holding that rookie title-- but, I think we proved our team's talent and fortitude by demonstrating our commitment to winning. We stayed in it right down to the end. In reality, it became a matter of our hot streak coming just slightly out of sync with Diaz's cold streak. Either way, we're proud. The crew and team can go home for the off-season knowing they left nothing on the track. We put it all out there."

Sak saw three trips to the podium in 2003. He had a second in Lime Rock, a third in Miami and second in Puerto Rico. In 11 starts, Sak finished the year with three top-5 finishes and 8 top-10s.

Sak's efforts garnered him 5th place in the Driver's Championship, just 10 points behind Jorge Diaz Jr. in 4th and 19 points behind Mike Lewis in 3rd. Johnny Miller took 2nd place 76 points behind Champion, Scott Pruett. It should be noted Miller only started 10 of 11 races.
