Soenen Motorsports Heads To The Home Of The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

June 27, 2001-Cleveland, Ohio, home of the renowned Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will host Round five of the BFGoodrich Tires Trans Am Series this upcoming Saturday, June 30th. Burke Lakefront Airport is the site for this spectacular venue on the Trans-Am Series Circuit, with downtown Cleveland on one side, and a beautiful view of Lake Erie running along the other side of the track.

Soenen Motorsports, along with driver Stu Hayner (Yorba Linda, CA), are very excited about bringing the #58 Trenton Forging/Soenen Motorsports Ford Mustang Cobra to this temporary circuit. This race will be the second of three SCCA Trans Am events that is to be televised by CBS. The race, commencing on Saturday at 4:45 pm, will be televised on a tape-delayed basis by CBS Sports the next day, Sunday, July 1, at 3:30pm.

The circuit is a temporary road course, measuring 2.106 miles, consisting of 10 turns. It is located at the Burke Lakefront Airport, which is usually a fully operational airstrip. The airport will, however, close down for the festivities of the weekend. The field will make 47 laps around this course, for a total of 98.982 miles. With the configuration and make up of this track, gearing and braking are of the utmost importance.

Qualifying will begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, June 29 EST. Hosting round 5 of the BFGoodrich Tires Cup Trans Am Series, Presented by Simple Green, will be Ralph Sheheen, and Bill Adam, most recently seen at the Trans Am event in Detroit.

To find where Stu Hayner has placed the #58 Mustang Cobra on the qualifying grid, please check the official website of Trans Am at www.trans-amseries.com, and thank you for visiting Soenen Motorsports website at www.soenenmotorsports.com.
