CARL EDWARDS TO PILOT SILVER CROWN CAR AT O'REILLY RACEWAY PARK AT INDIANAPOLIS

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- July 31, 2006 -- Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing Team Manager Chris Santucci announced today that NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Carl Edwards will return to the driver's seat to pilot the No. 199 USAC Silver Crown car during the J.D. ByRider 100, presented by TourHendricksCounty.com, on Thursday August 3rd at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.

"It is so exciting to be part of the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team," said Edwards. "The cars are so fast, it's a blast. I just won a race at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis a couple weeks ago and I can't wait to get back into the car."

The Missouri native has made three starts for the team in the USAC Silver Crown Series presented by K&N Engineering. This will be his first start as an owner. Carl Edwards was behind the wheel of the No. 199 during testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway this winter.

"Carl Edwards is one of the best drivers in the country," said Santucci. "It is great to have him back behind the wheel again."

The Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team is looking for marketing partners who desire primary or associate sponsorships for ORP and/or the remainder of the season. Interested parties should contact Chris Santucci at 901-581-1487 or Blake Johnson at 901-210-8525.

"This weekend's event would be a great opportunity for a company to get their name out there," said Santucci.

Carl Edwards has a history of success at O'Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis. The Missouri driver finished third in the 2003 J.D. ByRider 100. The following night, he went on to claim his second career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win for Roush Racing.

The Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing team is fifth in USAC Silver Crown Series owners points heading into O'Reilly Raceway Park. USAC rookie of the year candidate, Peter Shepherd will return to the cockpit of the No. 199 at Iowa Speedway in September.
