Illinois Star Levi Jones Returns To Perris For Jack Kindoll Classic!

(NOVEMBER 10, 2004, PERRIS, CA) Noted West Coast sprint car owner Harlan Willis announced today that young superstar Levi Jones would be his hired gun when the Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Cars close the 2004 season with the Jack Kindoll Classic at Perris Auto Speedway on November 20th.

Fresh off a second place finish in the Western World Championships at Manzanita Speedway and a third place finish in the Oval Nationals at The PAS, Jones will be making his first appearance in Willis' Mike Nigh tuned Willis Machine/Weld Wheels/TCR/Del Mar Wire #45.

The 22 year-old former high school basketball star from Olney, Illinois is closing the best season of his young career. In addition to his fine finishes at the Oval Nationals and the Western World, Jones won the 2004 Indiana Sprint Week Championship and ended up fourth in Valvoline USAC National Sprint Car points. In addition, he won his first USAC Sprint Car main event at Charlotte, North Carolina on October 13th.

In entering the Kindoll Classic, Jones is jumping straight into a hornet's nest as Yorba Linda's Rip Williams and Damion Gardner, of Concord, will settle the 2004 Valvoline USAC/CRA Championship that night. In addition to those two, Jones will also encounter west coast stars Mike Kirby of Torrance, Visalia's Greg Bragg, Corona's Tony Jones (no relation to Levi Jones) & Steve Ostling, Ojai's Troy Rutherford, Temecula's Mike Spencer, Bobby Cody of Costa Mesa and a host of other.

Spectator gates will open at 5:00 PM.

Perris Auto Speedway is conveniently located on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, home of the Southern California Fair, approximately one hour east of Los Angeles. Take the 215 Freeway, exit at the Ramona Expressway and go east two and a half miles to the fairgrounds.
