Dave Darland Appointed Full-time Driver of #9 Midget For Nine Racing Midget Team In 2008

Laguna Beach, CA -- Two-time USAC National Midget Series Champion Dave Darland has signed on to drive the full 2008 USAC National Midget Series season with Nine Racing. Driving the famous #9 Team ASE/Oakley/Pink Toyota for Nine Racing, Dave returns for his 8th season with the team.

Dave and the Nine Racing team begin the 2008 race season this week at the 22nd Annual Chili Bowl, at the Tulsa Expo Raceway clay oval, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The 2008 USAC National Midget Series season kicks off February 15 and 16 with the "The Copper on Dirt" at Manzanita Raceway, in Phoenix, Arizona. Dave and the Nine Racing team plan to continue their winning streak, as Dave won the last race of the 2007 season, the 67th Annual Turkey Night Grand Prix.

"We are pleased to have Dave returning to the Nine Racing team," stated Steve Lewis, team owner. "Dave brings tremendous experience to our team as he seeks his third midget championship, and will share his extensive knowledge to newcomer Kody Swanson." Kody will drive the #19 Team ASE/Oakley/Pink Toyota full-time in 2008.

"I'm ready to go for my third championship with the Nine Racing team," added Dave Darland. "Steve Lewis and Kelly Drake always give me a car ready to win at every event, and I'm looking forward to working with them, as well as Ed Pink and his crew, and the team at Toyota."
