Earl's extends Fast Qualifier program

Earl's extends USAC FQ program through 2005.

The highly successful Earl's Pro-Lite 350 Hose Fast Qualifier Championship is being extended through 2005 to continue to honor excellence in qualifying at United States Auto Club National and Western racing events.

Debuting in 2002 with a $20,000 cash presentation to J.J. Yeley of Phoenix, Ariz. culminating a season of spectacular qualifying performances, the Earl's program is being restructured for 2003, 2004 and 2005 to reward participants in all five of USAC's major open-wheel racing series.

A total of $75,000 will be distributed to qualifying champions in the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown, Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car and National Midget Car Series, plus the Western Sprint Car and Midget Car Series. Each series qualifying champion, determined by a system rewarding the fastest six qualifiers in each event, will receive a $5,000 cash award at season's end.

"We were extremely pleased with the 2002 program," said Robert Writesman, Manager of Circle Track Motorsports for Holley Performance Products, Inc. "The competition for points was intense and J.J. Yeley's performance was outstanding. We look forward to the continuance of this program and its importance to USAC participants. We consider USAC to be the ultimate in terms of competitive professional motorsports and are glad to be part of their family."

The new program is designed to create even more competition for points toward the Earl's championships and to broaden the scope of Earl's involvement in grass roots racing.

"We are proud of J.J. accomplishments," added USAC Director of Sales and Marketing Steve Farmer, "but we recognize the amount of additional talent USAC harbors in its various racing series. It's great to see this qualifying championship offer year-end bonuses to additional participants and we expect the next three years to produce hotly-contested Earl's championships."
