CENTER LINE, Mich. - Sprint car racing's newest "dash for cash" was announced today as officials from Mopar, Eldora Speedway, and USAC unveiled plans for The Mopar Million Sprint at Eldora, the richest night ever in sprint car racing history.
The Mopar Million Sprint at Eldora is scheduled for September 19-20, 2003, with more than 150 non-winged cars expected to compete for the champion's purse of $200,000. All 26 cars starting the feature are guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 each.
"Eldora has a reputation of always trying to move this sport forward," said Kevin Miller, Senior Manager - Mopar Brand Excitement. "With all the activities that Mopar has this year with Tony Stewart Motorsports, we felt sponsoring The Mopar Million Sprint at Eldora was a great opportunity to showcase this sport in a fun and exciting way."
"We are so honored that a company like Mopar has stepped up and sponsored this event," said Earl Baltes, owner of Eldora Speedway. "With this kind of money on the line, I can't imagine what the level of excitement and anticipation will be as we get closer to September 19 and 20."
