ALL-AMERICAN DRIVER CHALLENGE CONTINUES THROUGH SEPT. 30

DENVER, N.C. -- USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series coordinator Tracy Trotter continues to accept entries to "The All-American Driver Challenge," which has high expectations of finding the next American racing hero.

Trotter and a panel of judges will award a ride in the USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series to the winner of "The All-American Driver Challenge" sometime in early 2006. Applicants must be between the ages of 15 and 26.

The AADC was developed to find talented young drivers and provide them with a unique opportunity to begin a racing career in USAC. Challenge winners will be developed through a predetermined schedule of racing series.

Challengers must register and race at one of 12 approved indoor karting centers across the U.S. From there, entrants -- who are divided into 10 regions across the country -- will submit their best 100-lap go-kart average, and 10 challengers from each of the regions will be chosen to participate in the semi-finals in January 2006 in Charlotte, N.C.

The final round will be cut down to 25 competitors, who will be judged based on five aspects: driving talent, communication skills, media presence, physical fitness/personal character and mental challenge. The winner will be announced sometime in late January or early February.

"It's anybody's shot, and we're excited about giving a young person a real chance at becoming a pro racecar driver," said Trotter, the presenting sponsor of the AADC and owner of Calico Coatings, a racing performance company.
