"TRIPLEHEADER" AT PLYMOUTH, MIDGETS ALSO AT MANSFIELD; YOUNG, GEHRKE AND HAMILTON SCORE ON "HINES NIGHT"

James Robertson, Chett Gehrke and Kyle Hamilton lead their respective "regional" racing series entering Wednesday night's "tripleheader" at the Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway. Two of them grabbed feature victories in last Wednesday night's "Hines Family Night" action at Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind.

The "Wednesday Night Thunder" series presented by the Richard Petty Driving Experience for the Adam Petty Cup continues at Plymouth, with 30-lap features on tap for the Kenyon, Indiana Ford Focus and Regional Midgets.

Robertson, of Indianapolis, Ind., finished second to Travis Young in the New Castle Midget feature, while Gehrke, of Broken Arrow, Okla., won the Focus race and Hamilton, of Danville, Ind., won the Kenyon race. Robertson has a 104-point edge over Brent Beauchamp in the Regional Midget points, while Gehrke is 39 ahead of Eric Fehrman in the Indiana Focus points and Hamilton is 127 ahead of Blake Fitzpatrick in the Kenyon Midgets.

Young, of Franklin, Ind., passed Zach Schiff on lap six and went on to win the 33-lap Midget race at New Castle in his Matlock Ford-Mercury/BG Products Beast/Esslinger Ford over Robertson, Schiff, Dakoda Armstrong and Robby Parish. The final three laps of each extended feature honored the racing Hines family of Ted, Jim and Tracy. Following Wednesday's Plymouth race, the Regional Midgets travel to Mansfield (Ohio) Motorsports Park for a race Friday night.

Gehrke led all 33 laps in his Indy Performance Composites/Scooter Ellis Rentals Beast to win the Focus race over Craig Haack, Alison MacLeod, Parish and Andy Nock.

Hamilton passed Dillon Welch on lap seven of the Kenyon feature in his Curtis Motor Sales/WKLU Radio Yamaha and led the final 27 laps to beat Cale Conley, Fitzpatrick, Welch and Drew Charlson.

In the battle for the Adam Petty Cup, Robertson carries a 14-point lead over Parish into Wednesday's action at Plymouth.
