FOCUS RACING ON 3 FRONTS THIS WEEK; COTTONGIM, CLOUSE, DANIELS, CARLSON & BLONDEL ALL GET WINS

Ford Focus racing occurs on three fronts this week, with races in Indiana, Nevada and California. The Midwest Ford Focus and Young Guns race Wednesday night as part of "Ted Hines Night" at the Indianapolis (Ind.) Speedrome, while the Western/Utah series competes at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Bullring Thursday night. Saturday night the Western Pavement and Young Guns series are at the Orange Show Speedway in San Bernardino, Calif.

Tyler Cottongim of Avon, Ind. and Cooper Clouse of Ohio City, Ohio raced to USAC Ford Focus feature wins in last Wednesday night's "Michael Lang Night" racing program at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Cottongim won the 40-lap Midwest Ford Focus feature in his Pit Stop Bar & Grill Beast and Clouse won the 25-lap Young Guns feature in his Peterbuilt of NW Ohio Hawk. Cottongim passed Tyler Corriher on lap two and led the rest of the way to beat Corriher, Scott Hunter, Justin Hommel and Tate Martz. Clouse passed Gage Walker on lap 11 and led the final 15 laps of the Young Guns race to beat Max McGee, Ross Rankine, Walker and Stevie Kuhn.

Michael Daniels of Magna, Utah passed Kipp Posey on lap 22 and led the final four laps to win Saturday night's 25-lap USAC Western/Utah Ford Focus feature event at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah. Daniels was also the fastest qualifier and leads the Utah Ford Focus series standings. Posey took second ahead of Chuck Groat, Austin Luttmer and Jeremy McKenna.

Nick Carlson of Norwalk, Calif. and Jarid Blondel of Orange, Calif. scored USAC feature victories in Ford Focus action Saturday night at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. Carlson won the Western/Dirt Ford Focus feature, leading all but the first two laps of the 20-lapper to beat Andrew Murray, Wally Pankratz, Andrew Mulhearn and Western point leader Kyle Edwards. Jet Davison led the first two laps but finished sixth. Blondel passed Casey Martinez on the sixth lap of the 20-lap Young Guns feature to post the win over Martinez, Daniel Williams, Alex Jacobsen and Logan Williams.
