Indianapolis, Ind. -- May 26, 2006 -- Jerry Coons Jr and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. claimed top fifteen finishes Friday night at the Hoosier Hundred. Coons qualified the No. 199 Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Ford/ Sander Engineering car 12th. Stenhouse, in his first race in a Silver Crown car qualified 21st. The rookie started on the front row of the consolation race and drove away from the field to win. The race allowed the Olive Branch, Mississippi native extra track time.

"I am glad we won the consolation race," said Stenhouse. "It gave us more practice which is what I needed."

Jerry Coons started 12th and moved forward but nine cautions and a tiny leak in the No. 199's right rear tire set the Arizona native back.

"The right rear tire kept on going down on the yellows," stated Coons. "The car was good but it took a while for the tire to expand on the restarts. We fell so far back; we couldn't make up ground on the field but we survived to make a top ten finish out of it."

Coons finished 9th his third top ten finish at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the team in five attempts.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started in 21st but spun in turn three, four laps into the race. The spin didn't phase the teenager as he got on the gas and drove the No. 35 J&J/ DynoTech/ Sander/ Ford to finish 14th.

"I thought my first race went well," said Stenhouse. "I learned a lot from the beginning of the day until the end of the day. I am glad I got the opportunity to do this and I can't wait until the next race."

FIRST TIMER REPLAY

Ricky Stenhouse followed in the footsteps another first time driver of the No. 35. In his first race with the team, Tyler Walker won his consolation race at Phoenix in 2003, and then went on to a top 16 finish in the feature.

POINTS SHUFFLE

With another top ten finish, the Carl Edwards/ R.E. Technologies Racing Ford team is now 5th in the unofficial Silver Crown Owner's point's standings. Jerry Coons Jr. is 9th in driver's points.

CONGRADULATIONS

Ricky Stenhouse flew back from Indianapolis immediately following the race to participate in Commencement at DeSoto Central High School. The 18 year old graduated with honors Saturday.
