INDIANAPOLIS (May 17, 2000) -- The #44 CARQUEST Auto Parts USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet car will get double the exposure this Saturday when driver Bud Kaeding competes at the USAC Coca-Cola 100 at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Not only will the race be televised Live on ESPN2 Thunder at 7:30 p.m. ET, but the Helmling-Andretti Racing CARQUEST Silver Bullet machine will also carry one of the very popular CARQUEST Cage Cams.

"It doesn't get much better than the CARQUEST cage cam," said Rollie Helmling, team co-owner with John Andretti. "The cage cam is an ESPN Thunder tradition and we hope to give the fans at home a view like no other, hopefully at the front of the field."

The CARQUEST team last competed May 7th in the Shop-N-Save 100 at Gateway Int'l Raceway, just outside of St. Louis, MO. Kaedling qualified 3rd, but a mechanical problem forced him to the back of the field and a 22nd place finish.

The Coca-Cola 100 begins Saturday, May 20th with practice at 5 p.m. Pole qualifying starts at 6 p.m., the 15-lap qualifying race(s) gets under way at 7:30 p.m. and the Coca-Cola 100 is set for 9 p.m.. Chuck Leary holds the 1-lap track qualifying record of 119.442 mph, while Jeff Bloom set the 100-lap race standard of 98.728 mph in 1987.
