TOLEDO, OHIO INDOOR MIDGET RACE DATE ANNOUNCED

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Rumbleseries.com President Tony Barhorst announces the addition of the Rumble In The Toledo SeaGate Centre, a new indoor race event date on Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20.

The United States Auto Club returns with a special event that combines the National, Regional, Kenyon, and Ford Focus cars running a full show with a 60-lap feature on Friday and Saturday. The Outlaw Modified 600 cc Winged Midgets take will have a full show and a 50-lap feature each day. The Lucas Oil Quarter Midgets, and karts are also compete both days.

The SeaGate Centre, in the revitalized downtown Toledo near the new Mud Hens baseball park, is similar to the Memorial Coliseum Expo Center in Fort Wayne. Race officials plan a load-in, practice and Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 18, starting at noon on Dec 18 with practice from 6 to 10 p.m. A Christmas Party will be Friday, Dec. 19, during and after the races. The pits open at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 and at 8 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 20, the front gates open at noon, with the full USAC event after 7 p.m.

"I have reviewed our videotape from the races we held at the SeaGate Centre in December of 1999 under the Jack Calabrase NAMARS sanction, and the racing was excellent. Kevin Besecker made dramatic passes to win the feature in a Mac McClellan-prepared car then," said Barhorst. " We look forward to returning with USAC. "One really nice aspect of this location is the Park Inn (formerly the Radisson) connected to the SeaGate Centre and overlooking the Maumee River in downtown Toledo. With 400 rooms it is the largest hotel in northwestern Ohio. I have secured a "racers' rate of $79" (normally $139). Fans and competitors should ask for the Rumble rate specifically by calling 419-241-3000 for rooms only.

"The Rumble Series is now a true indoor series, if all goes well, I may add one more in the fall or winter of 2009 said Barhorst." The 2008 indoor series now includes the Buckeye Bowl at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Coliseum on Nov. 1, and the Rumble At The Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum Expo Center on Dec. 26 and 27, in addition to the new Toledo dates.

The Rumble Series is also promoting the USAC Indiana Midget Week date on dirt outdoors at the Union County Speedway south of Richmond, and west of Liberty, Ind., on Thursday, Aug. 7. Broadcasting legend Bob Jenkins is originally from Liberty, and he will meet fans and be Grand Marshal that evening.
