5 DRIVERS SEEK REPEAT KANSAS WINS

Five drivers competing in Saturday's "Kansasspeedway.com 100" K & N USAC Silver Crown race at Kansas Speedway already have USAC feature wins in the Sunflower State.

Jerry Coons Jr. leads the list with six victories, while J.J. Yeley has three, A.J. Fike two and Brian Tyler and Aaron Pierce one each.

Coons, who scored his initial Silver Crown victory last Saturday at Rossburg, Ohio, has six wins in USAC Midgets at Belleville (1996, 1998, 2005 and twice in 2007) and Wichita (2006). Yeley won a pair of Midget races at Belleville (1999 and 2003) and a Sprint race at Lakeside Speedway (2001). Fike's two Midget wins came at Belleville and Lakeside in 2001, while Tyler's lone Sprint win came at Lakeside in 1998 and Pierce won last year's "Kansasspeedway.com 100."

Pierce and Tyler competed in last year's "Kansasspeedway.com 100," Pierce winning and Tyler finishing 11th.

Coons would become USAC's winningest driver ever in Kansas with a victory Saturday. Dave Darland also has six wins, while Jay Drake and Bobby East have four each. Yeley is one of four with three Kansas wins, the others being Jason Leffler, Kasey Kahne and Josh Wise. Joining Fike with two each are Tony Stewart, Bobby Olivero, Russ Gamester, Craig Taylor, Troy Cline, Clay Collier, Tony Elliott and Tony Hunt.

Bob Tattersall won USAC's first Kansas race, a 100-lap Midget race at 81 Speedway in Wichita. Other notable USAC winners in Kansas have included Kenny Irwin, Jr., Greg Moore, Stevie Reeves, Doug Wolfgang, Johnny Parsons, Mel Kenyon, Sleepy Tripp, Don Branson and Jud Larson.
