(JANUARY 29, 2004, LAKE PERRIS, CA) Promoter Don Kazarian is pleased to announce that the 8th Annual Jack Kindoll Classic, one of traditional (non wing) sprint car racing's most prestigious events, will remain at Perris Auto Speedway. The 2004 edition of the Jack Kindoll Classic will take place on November 20th and will be the final race of the year for the brand new USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series. As is the custom, it will also bring down the curtain on the 2004 Perris Auto Speedway season.

Kindoll, who passed away in October of 1996, was a 3-time car owner champion with the original CRA (California Racing Association) and the founder of the J.F.K. Company, a speed equipment and machine shop in Sun Valley. He won his titles in 1976, 1977 and 1979 with Hall of Famer Jimmy Oskie behind the wheel of his famous blue sprint car. Among the other famous drivers who drove for Kindoll included Clark Templeman, Hall of Famer Walt James, Mike Sweeney, 1972 CRA Champ Stan McElrath and multi-time USAC National Champion Rich Vogler.

In addition to owning cars and manufacturing parts, Kindoll was a former CRA Vice President and an early starter with the association. His lovely wife Wilda, who presides over the Jack Kindoll Classic every year, scored CRA events at the old Carrell Speedway.

Promoter Kazarian remarked about the event saying, "We are very happy that the Jack Kindoll Classic will be staying at Perris Auto Speedway.

It is a premiere event and it honors a man who was dedicated to the sport."

The Jack Kindoll Classic was inaugurated in 1997 at The PAS and Rip Williams collected the initial trophy. Cory Kruseman, who now drives for former NASCAR Champion Tony Stewart, won the event in 1998. Recently retired Richard "The Gassman" Griffin won his only Kindoll Classic in 1999. Kruseman came back with a pair of wins in 2000 and 2001. Veteran Steve Ostling took the biggest victory of his career when he won the Kindoll Classic in 2002 and Lance Gremett scored his first 410 Sprint Car main event triumph at the 2003 Kindoll Classic last November.

The Jack Kindoll Classic will be the fourth 50-lap race for the USAC/CRA Sprint Cars at The PAS in 2004. The other three 50-lappers will be the Annual Salute to Indy on May 29th, the Firecracker 50 on July 3rd and the final of the 9th Annual Oval Nationals on October 30th.
