Thorsport Duo Finds Success in Weekend USAC Competition

SANDUSKY, Ohio - ThorSport Racing teammates Tracy Hines (No. 88 Menards Chevrolet Silverado) and Paul White (No. 13 Sta-Max Chevrolet Silverado) both participated in USAC open-wheel competition at The Milwaukee Mile last weekend. Hines ran the USAC National Midget 30-mile feature and the 100-mile Silver Crown feature, while White concentrated his efforts on the Silver Crown event.

Hines, the 2000 USAC Silver Crown Series champion and the 2002 USAC National Sprint Car champion, grabbed top-five finishes in both events. He started the afternoon with a fourth-place effort in the Midget feature, and completed the daily double with a very strong runner-up finish in the Silver Crown race.

"What a great weekend," Hines said afterward. "This is exactly what I needed. I couldn't ever get either car as tight as I wanted it, but I have been around them long enough that I know how to carry them. We're still trying to find how to do that with the Truck. But with all the hard work by the ThorSport Racing guys, we're getting closer every week."

White, the 2001 USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series champion, finished 14th in the 34-car Silver Crown field on Saturday, ahead of drivers such as Hendrick Motorsports development driver Boston Reid, NASCAR Busch Series rookie J.J. Yeley, perrennial USAC contender Dave Darland, and former IRL driver Jimmy Kite.

The ThorSport Racing team returns to NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series action July 31 in a 200-mile race at Michigan International Speedway. The race is scheduled for the green flag shortly after 1 p.m. Eastern and will be broadcast live on Speed Channel, selected radio affiliates of the Motor Racing Network, and on NASCAR Radio 144 on XM Satellite Radio.
