Federico Racing Heading Back to the "Big House"

Wilmette, IL (September 2, 2010) - After nearly a one year self imposed hiatus, Federico Racing has re-entering the world of short-course off-road racing, to be exact the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. The familiar #24 will be back at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway looking to put his PRO-Light Toyota Tacoma back on the podium.

Team owner and veteran short-course championship driver Steven Federico put his team and all its assets in storage for most of the 2010 race season, but last week at Chicagoland Speedway, the PRO-Light team was assembled with Matt Gerald behind the wheel of the Goodwin Competition powered Toyota Tacoma.

"Matt did an awesome job for us, especially on short notice," commented Steve Federico. "His demeanor and driving ability really helped us get back in the racing groove and I was really proud of the job he did for us. My crew chief, Chris Hanson needs the recognition for getting everything together in just a couple of weeks and the truck performed really well."

Getting the team ready for Crandon also meant finding a veteran off-road racer to pilot the black Toyota Tacoma. Matt Gerald is unavailable due to his own race effort, as he is attempting win the TORC Light Buggy Championship at Crandon.

After considering several drivers, Federico will have George Schultz behind the wheel come Labor Day Weekend. George competed in the PRO-Light category during the World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) days, as well as driving in the Limited 2 division during the Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) era. George is also an accomplished circle track racer that has competed in the Mid-America Stock Car Touring Series.

"George is a very talented driver, and is a great fit for our team," noted Federico. "I want our team to go to Crandon and be competitive so we can use the weekend to build upon for 2011."
