Hoek Saves Best Performance for Crandon - Back-to Back PRO-Light Podiums

Holland, Mi (September 7, 2010) - The final trip to "The Big House" was an all-star performance for the Allstar Performance, BFGoodrich, Venom Energy Ford of Ross Hoek. The orange #21 landed on the podium in both Round 11 and Round 12 of the Traxxas TORC Series. Ross Hoek Motorsports definitely had their best performance of the year.

The weekend of racing in Crandon began with the traditional downtown festivities and parade on Friday morning but the cooler weather was quickly augmented with rain for most of the afternoon. Thanks to Mother Nature the 1.7 mile track was impossible to navigate. The track officials cancelled all Friday track activities and Saturday morning practice to allow the work crews to get the track surface race ready. By the time the PRO-Lite trucks lined up for the traditional land rush start, the sun was shining and the track conditions were absolutely perfect.

Saturday Round 11

The land rush start had Ross Hoek coming out of Potawatomi Turn One in fourth place. By the end of the second lap, the Allstar Performance Ford was comfortable in third place. As the race progressed, the two lead trucks were battling back and forth with Ross looking for some way to take advantage of the situation. The opportunity finally came when the two lead trucks came together with the leader rolling over. Unfortunately it was just as the two crossed the finish line, with Ross finishing only a couple feet short of second in a well deserved third place.

"I watched Currie and Caddell racing each other and was looking for that opportunity when they would take each other out," remarked Ross Hoek. "When it did finally happen, they were crossing the finish line; of course it was too late to capitalize on the situation."

The next morning Ross and his team were bound and determined to finish higher on the podium.

Sunday Round 12

The final round of racing for the 2010 TORC season was also Ross Hoek's best finish of the year. The Orange Ford Ranger came charging out of the first corner in second place. Ross fell back a couple spots in the next couple turns but regained the second spot before the end of the first lap. Ross held onto the position the entire way to the finish. It was the first weekend in PRO-Light with back-to-back podium finishes for the southern Michigan native.

"I said we would climb higher up on the box today and we did," noted Ross Hoek. "This effort my team has given this program is second to none. We are working on a very limited budget and we have been competitive all year. The new V8 PRO-Light truck is really fun to drive. I can't wait until next year."

In the final TORC PRO-Light Championship standings, Ross Hoek finished fourth overall with five Top-3 finishes including a second and four third place finishes.
