Cape Motorports with Wayne Taylor Racing has announced that Aaron Telitz has joined the team to compete in the 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda. Telitz, 23, will drive the No. 3.
The young driver from Wisconsin is the 2013 Skip Barber Championship Shootout winner and had a successful rookie USF2000 season in 2014. He had one win and six podium finishes on his way to finishing fourth overall in the Championship and claiming "Rookie of the Year" honors.
"I'm super stoked to be joining Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2015 Cooper Tires USF2000 Series,” Telitz said. “After having a strong rookie year, I've decided to come back to USF2000 and make another run at the Championship. I don't think I need to do a lot of talking about the Capes track record for producing champions. I am looking forward to learning a ton from the Cape brothers and performing my best each race weekend, and we'll see where the year takes us!"
Fifth in five?
Telitz hopes to be the fifth Cape Motorsports driver to claim the Championship in as many years.
“We are very excited to have Aaron join the team,” said team owners Dominic and Nicholas Cape. “With a win under his belt last season, we expect him to challenge for more race wins in 2015.”
Telitz will join previously announced team driver Nico Jamin.
The USF2000 season will kick-off March 28th at St. Petersburg, Fla.
