ONTARIO, CANADA - Brian Stewart Racing announced today that they will field a team in the USF2000 Series in 2010.

"Since 2005 we have sponsored the Brian Stewart Racing Karting Championship (BSRKC) in an effort to enable all young people to be able to participate in a competitive karting series while developing their driving skills," said team founder, Brian Stewart, "and now we want to take our Driver Development Program one step further by establishing a new stepping stone between karting and our Firestone Indy Lights team. The decision to enter a team in the USF2000 Series also helps us to support the Road to Indy ladder program that was recently announced by the Indy Racing League."

Participants in BSR's Driver Development Program will compete in 12 USF2000 races over the course of the year and will be supported by Indy-Lights quality staff and technology. "Each driver will have a team of people to support them," adds BSR Business Manager, Janet Stewart, "including top-notch mechanics and engineers. We will be bringing 45 years of experience and our history of excellence with us to this series."

"Tommy Byrne is one of the most skillful drivers I have ever known," remarks Brian, "and he will be providing the drivers with personal coaching at all of their races as well as at their test days. In addition to that, we have Jim Leo of Pit Fit who will be working with our drivers and providing them with individualized fitness plans and on-going support. We want to give our drivers every possible advantage that we can to help them excel."

BSR is not new to F2000 having put a number of drivers on the top step of the podium in this class in the 90's. In its 45-year history of auto-racing, BSR has had an outstanding record of winning at all levels of open-wheel auto racing in North America in which they have participated and is ready to put a Driver Development Program in place that will create a pool of talent to graduate to the Indy Lights level. Past drivers include well-known names such as Paul Tracy, Brian Herta, Eric Bachelart, Christiano Da Matta, Scott Maxwell and Wade Cunningham.

In addition to being mentored by Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame Member, Brian Stewart, drivers will also be coached on important off-track skills such as media relations and sponsor engagement and will be able to participate in the team's track-side Indy Lights Team activities.
