V8 Ute Veteran, Handlebars secure for Clipsal 500

Long time V8 Ute driver, Charlie "Handlebars" Kovacs has today announced that Wilson Security's have come on board as his major partner for the year that will kick-start with Round 1 of the 2010 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series -- protected by Armor All at the Clipsal 500, this weekend (11 -- 14 March).

Kovacs a ten year veteran of the Series and the longest serving driver has been his main supporter over the years with his Red Express Deliveries company and is happy to welcome Wilson Security's on board.

"It's great to have a company of this caliber come on board as a partner. I've had some great support over the years but this is definitely a massive bonus. Wilson Security's have a great business in SA, and this just confirms that they support the locals".

Wilson Security's, CEO John McMellan is looking forward to the year ahead and especially involvement in the V8 Ute Series.

"I am excited to be involved with Charlie this year, as he is one of the personalities in the V8 Utes since it started. The Utes are exciting to watch and Charlie doesn't mind getting in the mix either," said Wilson Security's CEO John McMellan.

Wilson Security's are also heavily involved in Supercars, and now with Leanne Tander who will be racing in the V8 Utes "Ten Years of Legends Race" this weekend with local Craig Dontas who will be rivaling Kovacs' and son Charlie Jnr for the title.

"Junior has been trying to kick me out of my seat for a while, so for now we are team mates," said Kovacs Snr.

Handlebars' has been on podium twice over the years at Clipsal with a win in 2004 and will be setting his sights on another one this time round.

"We want to win every time we hit the track and this year will be no. We are feeling confident with the car and it looks great with the new Wilson Security livery," said Kovacs Snr.

The "Ten Years of Legends Race" will be televised in a 1 hour LIVE broadcast on Network Seven on Sunday, 14th March, so keep your eye out for the legendary "Handlebars" in his Wilson Security Racings Holden VE SS Commodore as he begins his tenth year celebrations.
