SOLID START AT BATHURST FOR D'ALBERTO AND BARGWANNA
Tony D'Alberto and Jason Bargwanna have made a solid start to their Bathurst 1000 campaign in the Rod Nash Racing Commodore today with 12th fastest time at the end of the day.
The day started well with Tony being second fastest in the opening session of the day as he re-acquainted himself with the circuit.
"We had a pretty good base set-up and that made it easy for me in the first session," Tony said.
"The first time over the top reminded me of how daunting this circuit is; but you just have to push beyond the fear factor and get on with it."
Bargwanna drove the second session and was fourth fastest at the end giving the team a well deserved confidence boost for the days ahead.
The final session of the day was shared between both drivers and the times started to drop as the session went on.
Bargwanna began the session and posted some solid early times before handing the car over to Tony for the remainder of the session.
"I can't wait to have a real crack at it tomorrow," Bargwanna said.
"The car was really good today and I think we can get more speed out of it tomorrow."
Tony posted his fastest time ever at the circuit with a 2:08.81 lap, the twelfth fastest of the session.
"It is good that both Bargs and I have good speed, we are able to give each other feedback and push each other along to get the most out of each of us," Tony said.
There will be two practice sessions and qualifying tomorrow before Saturday's top-ten shootout and Sunday's 1000km race.
