Ingall re-signs with Caltex Racing

INGALL RE-SIGNS WITH CALTEX RACING

Caltex Racing's Russell Ingall has re-signed with the Stone Brothers Racing team.

Ingall, who currently leads this year's V8 Supercar Series by 66 points from his SBR teammate Marcos Ambrose with two rounds remaining, penned the new deal at the weekend.

Confirmation of the new deal comes on the same day that is has been announced that young Australian open-wheel ace James Courtney will be replacing Ambrose at SBR next season in a Caltex-lubricated Ford sponsored by Jeld-Wen -- the parent company of the Stegbar window and doors company, which has been a support sponsor at SBR the last couple of seasons.

"There is no doubt that Caltex Racing, under the SBR umbrella, is one of the best teams in the business," said Ingall.

"My crew and the support staff are some of the most dedicated and hard-working guys in the business and that is the number one asset of the team.

"Everyone has one common goal and that is to win every race we enter and, as a result, be in contention for the championship.

"I have also built some great relationships with Caltex and the fact that they have recently re-signed for another three years as the naming rights sponsor was also played a major role in my decision."

Ingall is chasing his maiden V8 Supercar title after having been runner-up four times previously, including last year to Ambrose.

"I would rather being leading the championship by 66 points, than trailing by 66 points at this stage of the season, but the gap can never be big enough, unless of course its enough to give you the title," said Ingall.

"We just need to concentrate on every race from here until the end of the championship and ensure that we get the job done."

SBR co-owner Ross Stone was delighted to have Ingall locked away and believes he will play a vital role in the team's future.

"Russell is a tough serious racer and we enjoy having him as part of our operation," said Stone.

"He wants to win as badly as everyone involved with this team and that is a key factor to success.

"We need to have confidence in Russell and he needs to have the same in us."

The next round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series will be held at the Symmons Plains Raceway on November 11-13.
