Jack Daniel's Racing Friday practice at Homebush Circuit

PRACTICE 4 - The 28 cars took to the track for their final 30-minute session with both Rick Kelly and Tim Blanchard continuing to make adjustments in the quest to unlock more speed from the Jack Daniel's Racing Commodore’s.

Blanchard made more rear suspension adjustments and fitted his first set of new tyres for the weekend and rejoiced the session with eight minutes remaining.

Shortly after, Rick pitted and fitted his first set of new tyres for the weekend and left the pits with five minutes left. At the end of the session Rick was 19th fastest and Tim 28th.

Setting the fastest time was 2012 champion Jamie Whincup followed by Will Davison and HRT’s Garth Tander.

Rick Kelly: “Towards the end of the final session when I had new tyres on, the track improved but we were unable to do the so. We are also having issues as to which kerbs (sensors) are turned on and off.

Given how much kerb you’ve got to use here, we need to get that sorted and attack it tomorrow”.

Tim Blanchard: “We haven’t got the car in the window so we have a lot of work to do overnight and hopefully we will be a lot better tomorrow and able to move up the field in the Jack Daniel's Racing Commodore”.

PRACTICE 3 - All 28 cars participated in the third session and Jack Daniel's Racing’s Rick Kelly ventured onto the Homebush track for the first time.

Both Rick and Tim Blanchard spent the session cycling through a number of old tyres. Blanchard was the first to visit the pits after 10 minutes for a change of tyres and was then back 10 minutes later for an adjustment to the front suspension.

Meanwhile Kelly was dialling himself and the #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Commodore in and with 12 minutes left pitted and made rear suspension changes.

The session was red-flagged with two minutes remaining after Jonathon Webb stopped on the circuit with a mechanical gremlin.

When the session resumed, the drivers only had time to complete one flying lap. Kelly ended the session 20th with Blanchard 28th.

Filling the top three positions were Jason Bright, followed by 2012 V8 Supercars champ Jamie Whincup and Will Davison.

PRACTICE 2 - The Jack Daniel's Racing crew replaced the errant ECU unit and Tim Blanchard joined the other 14 cars on the track for the second 30-minute session of the day.

Once again Blanchard spent the session running on old tyres and continued to work on a set up around the concrete-wall limned Homebush circuit. Like many others in the session Blanchard had one of his laps disallowed for excessive kerb hopping.

Tony D’Alberto remained the fastest in this session followed by Jason Bright and Michael Caruso

PRACTICE 1 - Tim Blanchard driving the #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Commodore used the opening 30-minute practice session to gather valuable data work and commence work on finding a suitable base set up for the weekend.

However, with 11 minutes remaining Blanchard brought out the red flag to suspend the session, when he stopped on the track at turn eight, as the ECU unit had become unplugged. He was towed back to the pits so a new unit could be fitted before session 2.

Fastest in the session was Tony D’Alberto followed by steve Owen and Michael Caruso.
