Le Brocq will take on a newly-created ‘reserve driver’ role with the factory team, which will see him return to Matt White’s MW Motorsport squad as the Nissan Altima makes its debut in the second-tier Dunlop Super2 Series, Le Brocq to run a full-time campaign that includes the non-championship race at Bathurst.

The 24-year-old will also race alongside Todd Kelly at the Sandown 500, Bathurst 1000, and the Gold Coast 600, replacing Triple Eight-bound Matt Campbell, as well as making two Supercars sprint round appearances as part of the series’s new wildcard initiative.

Le Brocq is the first driver to confirm interest in the wildcard programme, with the Perth and Queensland Raceway rounds understood to be targeted as his two main game starts outside of the enduros.

“To be offered an opportunity to join the factory Nissan programme in this way is awesome,” said Le Brocq.

“Being the first to race an Altima in the Dunlop Super2 Series is fantastic and the programme with Nissan Motorsport is truly integrated. Having driven for Matt White previously, I know we have every chance of winning the title.

“Add in co-driving duties with Todd [Kelly] in the enduros, a couple of wildcard races and total integration into the factory programme, and there’s a lot to look forward to.

“I can’t wait to get started.”

Todd Kelly confirmed that Le Brocq will be completed immersed in the Nissan Supercars programme, at both Super 2 and main game level.

“Jack’s job will be to learn everything he can about the cars and our programme,” said the team owner/driver.

“He’ll have a head start, of course, with the Dunlop Super2 Series programme and we will collaborate very closely on that throughout the season.

“But as reserve driver Jack will be across everything we do, from our development and testing programme, to team briefings with our main series drivers and engineers.”

Having narrowly missed out on the Dunlop Series title as a Prodrive Racing Australia driver last season, despite taking seven wins and more poles than anyone else, Le Brocq added that he has his eyes firmly on making up for that missed opportunity this year.

“We had a great season last year and easily won the most races, but weren’t as consistent as we should have been, and just missed out on the title,” he said.

“I want to put that right this year, and repay the faith put in me by [main sponsor] GoGetta and our many other supporters.”
