PERKINS AND WOOD KEEN FOR PHILLIP ISLAND ACTION

Dodo Racing Team drivers Jack Perkins and Dale Wood can barely wait for this weekend's L&H 500 at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Victoria.

The team-mates will do battle in the first of this year's V8 Supercar endurance events at the fast Phillip Island circuit and both young guns are keen to put on a good showing aboard the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore.

Perkins finished eighth in this event last season when paired with Kelly Racing endurance pilot Nathan Pretty and is determined to match that by scoring his first top 10 finish of the season on home soil this weekend.

For Wood, Phillip Island marks his return to racing action, having fulfilled testing and Friday co-driver practice session duties for the past three events.

The #11 Dodo Holden Commodore will also carry new backing from online betting agency BET 24 7 this weekend at Phillip Island.

DODO RACING TEAM QUOTEBOARD

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"I'm really looking forward to getting to Phillip Island after a good test in the Dodo Commodore with Dale (Wood) at Winton last week," said Jack Perkins.

"James our new engineer and our whole team are really excited about this event. I had a good race there last year and finished in the top 10, so I'm really looking to build on that.

"If we can circulate all day and bring the car home I'm sure we can achieve a great result for the whole team."

Dale Wood - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"It's good to be back to racing in the Dodo Commodore this weekend," said Dale Wood.

"I'm really excited to be paired with Jack (Perkins) and while I've been doing some of the Friday sessions and testing, it's back to business now and we're both very determined to put on a good show.

"The endurance races at the two biggest races for the year and as a driver in some ways it's kind of what you live for because it's when it gets really serious and the races are very tough.

"Phillip Island is a tough circuit but one that I really enjoy. It puts on a good atmosphere and the high speed corners are a real challenge, so I'm really keen to get out there."
