Mark Larkham will be a regular part of the live Supercars TV broadcast again this season, thanks to a pit reporter role with Supercars Media.

The former Supercars race winner, who took up pit reporting and TV work after retiring, was part of the Seven Network's live Supercars coverage until it lost the rights at the end of the 2014 season thanks to the split deal between Fox Sports and Channel 10.

Larkham then joined Channel 10, working on the network's Supercars coverage and weekly RPM magazine show while the likes of Greg Rust, Greg Murphy, and Riana Crehan covered pitlane for the live Supercars Media feed.

With Rust stepping down as pit reporter for Fox Sports/Supercars Media at the end of last season, tech expert Larkham has now been drafted back into the team alongside Murphy and Crehan.

“Larko is an icon of motorsport commentary and a hugely popular figure with drivers, race teams, fans and the viewers,” Supercars General Manager of Media and Content Nathan Prendergast said.

“His ability to articulate in-race strategy on the run, highly complex technical aspects and describe what race teams and race drivers are thinking to a broad audience in everyday terms is his great strength.

“It is wonderful to have him back in pitlane.”

According to Larkham, the opportunity to get back in the lane wasn't one he could pass up.

“Whilst the last few years have been a fantastic journey of learning, creativity, and contributing to the Supercars telecast from a different perspective, I’m now genuinely looking forward to working in the race telecast,” Larkham said.

“In particular, interacting with my many long-time friends and peers in the pitlane and in the broadcast production, but most of all with the fans with whom I get great personal joy in attempting to break down our often complex, misunderstood and highly technical sport.

“So along with a bit of fun, making some blunders, occasionally burning my fingers and getting lambasted, I’ll be doing my best to bring an added dimension to an existing excellent team with a mix of analysis, graphics, tools and dynamics, along with a bit of show and tell.”

Supercars has confirmed that Neil Crompton and Mark Skaife will continue to anchor the live broadcast. There are no changes to the presenter teams for each channel either, with Skaife, Jess Yates, and Russell Ingall continuing on Fox Sports, while Matt White will host the Channel 10 coverage.
