Round two of the V8 Supercar championship at Symmons Plains started poorly for Team BOC's Jason Bright with two difficult qualifying sessions but hard work to rectify the problems paid off with excellent race performances.

Qualifying was held in back to back 10 minute sessions for the two 100km afternoon races and Bright was left frustrated with the handling of his Team BOC VF Commodore, finishing 20th for the first race and 14th for the second.

Determined to solve the handling issues, Bright and the team worked diligently before the first race and it paid off with Bright passing multiple cars on the way to a 13th place finish.

In the second race Bright stormed through the field to move up to 6th.

Jason Bright:

"It certainly wasn't a good day for us in qualifying. Thankfully we improved the car. We had a good start and re-start (following a safety car) but we still didn't get the car quite where we wanted it. The car was a lot better in the second race and again we had good starts and re-starts (after more safety cars) and the pace of the car was similar to the leaders for a while there. I think we have a much better shot of it tomorrow in qualifying. I feel much more confident in the car."

In the first race, Redbull's Jamie Whincup won from HRT's James Courtney and FPR's Mark Winterbottom. The two Redbull team mates clashed on the circuit leading to an off track excursion from Craig Lowndes.

In the second race it was Whincup again from Winterbottom and Lockwood Racing's Fabian Coulthard.
