MCNALLY HAPPY WITH OPENING ROUND OF V8 UTES

Glenn McNally finished the final V8 Ute race in 12th place today in what was a solid start to the 2009 series.

While always aiming for a top ten result, McNally was pleased to come away unscathed and with some solid points.

"We learned a lot this weekend," Glenn said.

"I definitely need to work on my braking ability, I need to be able to brake harder and get the car to turn into the corner better.

"We now know where everyone is at and this round has been a good place to start the year."

Glenn didn't get a great start in the final race today and lost ground in the opening laps.

After that he was able to settle into the race and made up the gap by the end.

"We have a few things to work on at our next test day, namely my braking.

"It is about getting the pedal pressure up so that we can drop a couple of k's mid corner."

The West Coast Racing VE Commodore will get a bit of a freshen up before the next round and will have a new sticker design similar to Mark's V8 Supercar.

"The boys did a great job preparing the car again this weekend and we were able to have a trouble-free run," Glenn said.

The next round is at Victoria's Winton Raceway on 1-3 May.

"We had a pretty good run at Winton last year so hopefully we can build on that performance," he said.
