Craig Lowndes back after 20 years pressing to win again under lights
The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship will race under lights for the first time in over 20 years this weekend, with one driver having a winning edge over the rest of the field. When Supercars last ran under lights at Sydney Motorsport Park, Craig Lowndes made his debut in the category at an event that saw the start of one of the greatest racing careers in Australian motorsport history. Lowndes says racing at night has it’s benefits and believes the switch to running under the stars will aid the performance of his all-new Commodore Supercar. Triple Eight teammate Shane van Gisbergen will contest his 350th Supercars race in Sydney this weekend and is looking forward to putting on a different kind of show for the fans.
