KNOXVILLE, IOWA (JULY 11, 2001) - Ellis Palasini of Leland, Mississippi, will share the highlights of his super- modified racing career, 1951-72, with visitors to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum on Saturday, July 28, as part of the museum's historical forum series. Ellis and his wife Norma will be joined by writer/photographer and forum moderator Tony Martin of Pensacola, Florida. The forum will be held on the museum's second floor and it will be from 3 until 4:30 p.m. on the afternoon of the inaugural "1,200-Pound Nationals" at Knoxville Raceway.

The Palasini/Jack Elam-built "Black Widow" number V-8 winged super-modified, or 'skeeter', is currently on display in the non- profit museum. The former Mobile, Alabama, track champion will be available to sign autographs by his famed Fred Sabbatini-wrenched championship-winning car following the forum.

The series of historical presentations on the last Saturday of the month during the Knoxville sprint car racing season are an out-growth of the International Reel Wheel Film Festival & Forums.

Those seeking information on the July 28 'salute to Ellis Palasini' or the March 8-9-10, 2002, film festival are urged to contact museum director Thomas J. Schmeh at 641-842-6176, or by e- mail at tschmeh@sprintcarhof.com.
