Aug. 30, 1992 -- Michael Schumacher wins the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps in his Benetton, winning Goodyear's 275th Formula One victory.
SEPTEMBER
Sept. 1, 1996 -- Butch Leitzinger claims victory in the IMSA World Sportscar Championship race on the 1.29-mile street course in Dallas, Texas. Leitzinger drives a Dyson Racing entry in the two-hour race.
Sept. 3, 1973 -- Gary Beck rides a set of Goodyear tires to the first sub-six second pass in NHRA Top Fuel history when he is clocked at 5.96 seconds at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Sept. 4, 1976 -- Don "The Snake" Prudhomme, racing on Goodyear tires, records the first sub-six second pass in NHRA Funny Car history when he is clocked at 5.97 seconds at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Sept. 4, 1977 -- Vittorio Brambilla drives an Alfa Romeo 33SC12 on Goodyear tires to victory in a 250 kilometer race at Imola. The race is part of the World Sports Car Championship.
