THE WORLD'S PREMIER EVENT 25th ANNUAL MONTEREY HISTORIC AUTOMOBILE RACES

LAGUNA SECA RACEWAY, Monterey, California (July 27) - On the weekend of August 14-16, Laguna Seca Raceway will host the 25th Annual Monterey Historic Automobile Races presented by the Chrysler Corporation. The world's premier event for historic race cars each year features a historic automobile marque and this year the featured marque is Porsche.

Indeed, the event is so prestigious that Porsche will celebrate its 50th Birthday here over the weekend. Among the highlights will be more than 20 cars from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, many of which are rarely seen in public, and in attendance will be Porsche executives, famous drivers and celebrities.

For motorsports enthusiasts, the Monterey Historic Automobile Races are like other sports' all-star games where fans get to watch legendary competitors in action and have a chance to meet many of their heros. Over 400 historic cars dating from the Turn of the Century to 1981 are entered.

There will be seven historic car races on Saturday and Sunday in addition to an on-track Porsche Exhibition on Saturday and a Porsche Parade on Sunday:

Friday, August 14, practice: Sessions for all 14 historic race car groups

Saturday, August 15, races: Pre-1928 Sport and Racing Cars; 1929-1947 Sport and Racing Cars; 1947-1955 Sport and GT Cars; 1955-1961 GT Cars under 2.2-liters; 1955-1961 Sport Racing Cars under 2-liters; 1955-1961 Sport Racing Cars over 2-iters 1965-1971 FIA Manufacturers Championship Cars.

Sunday, July 16, races: 1947-1955 Sport Racing and GT Cars under 2-liters 1959-1963 Formula Cars 1962-1966 GT Cars under 2-liters 1961-1966 Sport Racing Cars; 1966-1974 Can-Am Cars 1963-1968 GT Cars over 2-liters 1972-1981 FIA Manufacturers Championship Cars.

Laguna Seca Raceway is open to spectators starting at 7 a.m. on all event days. Admission prices, which all include event and paddock admission as well as admission to the grandstands Saturday and Sunday on a first come-first serve basis are:

Three-day Super Ticket (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) $75 - advance sale only

Two-day Super Ticket (Saturday & Sunday) $60 - advance sale only

Friday General Admission ticket $25 - advance or gate sale

Saturday General Admission ticket $35 - advance sale/ $40 - gate sale

Sunday General Admission ticket $30 - advance sale/ $35 - gate sale

Admission for children 12 years and under Free when accompanied by a paying adult
