New Egypt, NJ (Oct. 6) -- Driving greats from the '50s, '60s, '70s and '80s will be honored guests at New Egypt Speedway's Legends of the Fall season finale, the track's second annual tribute to regional auto racing's colorful history, on Saturday afternoon, October 14. The program, which commences at 2:30 p.m., will also feature today's top drivers in a tripleheader card with big prize money on the line.

More than 30 legendary racing heroes are scheduled to attend, including 1952 NASCAR national champion Frankie Schneider; multi-talented Modified and URC Sprint ace Glenn Fitzcharles; Orange County and Nazareth champ Bobby Bottcher; East Windsor and Flemington Modified stars Sammy Beavers and Stan Ploski; Syracuse winner Billy Osmun; Wall Stadium's all-time leading asphalt Modified winner Gil Hearne; modern-day pavement star Tony Siscone; Reading Fairgrounds hotshot Bobby Hauer; renowned Midget and Modified car owner Ken Brenn Sr.; many-time Wall Stadium Modified kingpin Parker Bohn; ARDC Midget and Flemington Modified champ Lenny Boyd; Atlantic City Modified titlist Sal Moschella; popular paved-track sensation Elton Hildreth; noted car builder/driver Lee Hendrickson; and a host of others.

The afternoon of nostalgia will feature interviews with yesterday's star drivers and an exhibition of over 40 beautifully restored race cars by the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club. The legend drivers will also sign limited edition collectible autograph cards for the fans.

Fans can also purchase a chance to win the ride of their lives: a five-lap tour around the track in Billy Pauch's two-seater Late Model. Pauch will donate all proceeds to the Burn Foundation.

On the track, the big-block Modifieds will go at it in a 50-lap feature paying $5,000 to win; Sportsman will race 40 laps for a $2,000 top prize, and the winner of the Street Stock 30-lap feature will collect $1,000. There is no entry fee for the event, and an open 92-inch tire rule will be in effect.

Don't miss a day made for memories on October 14. Gates open at 12 noon for the Legends of the Fall special; there is a Sunday raindate. Adult admission is $20, children 7-12 are $6, and kids 6 and under are free. For more information, call (609) 758-1900.
