Art Malone drives Bob Osiecki's "Mad Dog IV" to a World Closed Course Speed Record of 181.561 mph at Daytona International Speedway. "Mad Dog IV" was a front-engined Curtis Indy roadster powered by a supercharged Dodge 413 Wedge motor. The body sported a stabilizing tail fin and inverted wings -- one each side of the cockpit like an airplane (1961).
