John Andretti and Bob Wolleck drive a Porsche 962 to victory in the IMSA
Camel GT race at West Palm Beach, Florida, USA (1989).
April 24
Drag racing's first reported 200 mph speed is set by John "The Golden
Greek" Karamesines with a 204.54 mph run at Alton Dragway in Alton,
Illinoise, USA (1960).
April 25
Paul Hawkins and David Hobbs drive a Ford GT40 to victory in the 1000km
sportscar race at Monza, Italy (1968).
April 26
The BMW-powered March M-1/C makes it's race debut in the 6-hour IMSA event
at Riverside, California, with David Hobbs and Marc Surer driving. They
finish sixth while Jim Fitzpatrick and im Busby win in a Porsche (1981).

Eugene Chaboud wins the Grand Prix du Rousillon at Perpignan, France, in a
Talbot 26 (1947).

Dale Earnhardt wins the NASCAR Hanes 500 at Martinsville, Virginia, USA
