Driving Clergys, Bill Barndollar wins the 20 mile race and Lewis Clergy

May 31
Luigi Fagioli crashes his Lancia B20 during practice for a sports car race
in Monoco. He will die of his injuries 18 days later (1952).
June 1
Derek Bell, Hans Stuck, and Al Holbert drive a Porsche 962 to victory in
the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Jo Gartner dies in an accident during the early
morning hours (1986).
June 2
Brian Redman drives a Lola to victory in the season opening USAC/SCCA
F5000 Championship race at Mid-Ohio in Lexington, Ohio, USA (1974).
June 3
Martin Woods drives a Lola T580 to victory in the FF2000 race at Lydden in
the UK (1982).
June 4
The Maserati Tipo 60 prototype is seen in public for the first time when
Sterling Moss tests it on the Nurburgring in Germany (1959).

The "Golden Submarine" race car is shipped from Harry Miller's shop in Los
