Donnie Allison wins the NASCAR Winston Cup stockcar race at Rockingham, North Carolina, USA (1977).

October 24
Louis Renault, one of the brothers who founded the Renault automobile company, dies in prison. He had been beaten for 30 straight days by his captors after being arrested by the French government at the end of World War II for collaborating with the Germans during the war (1944).

October 25
A Maserati Tipo 61 is entered in a race for the first time. Edwin Martin, driving the second Tipo 61 produced (chassis 2453), wins the SCCA Regional race run at the airport in Dothan, Alabama, USA (1959).

October 26
Bernd Schneider and Klaus Ludwig drive a Mercedes CLK to victory in the FIA GT Championship finale at Laguna Seca, California, USA. Schneider wins the drivers championship (1997).

October 27
Jim Clark drives a Lotus 25 to win in the Mexican Grand Prix at Magdelena Mixhuca (1963).

October 28
Mark Donohue drives a Penske Porsche 917/30 to victory in the last Can-Am race of the season, at Riverside, California, USA. Last of six strainght Can-Am wins for Donohue. Final Can-Am victory for Donohue and Porsche (1973).

October 29
John Force wins his tenth NHRA Funny Car championship. Angelle Sealing becomes the first woman to win the NHRA Pro Stock Bike title (2000).
